Musical Influences |
My influences are extremely diversified. They range from old school Rock & Roll from the 70’s my parents use to listen at home, such as Elvis Presley, The Doors, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many more, to stuff like Giorgio Moroder, David Bowie, The B52’s and most of the artist of the crazy Disco years. As a matter of fact, these last names that I have mentionned were among the first records that I’ve personally purchased to start experimenting behind my first decks and mixer playing for small parties here and there.
Starting in the late 80’s until the 90’s my musical preferences evolved towards some very different and diversified styles, ranging from industrial & rock to straight-ahead electronic music like Ministry, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Cat Rapes Dog, Cabaret Voltaire, Die Krupps, Die Warzau, Mussolini Headkick, Bigod 20, Kraftwerk, Front Line Assembly, Cassandra Complex, Art of Noise, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Body Count, Green Jelly, Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Zombie, The Tea Party and even artists like Dread Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson, Ann Clark & Moby.
In the last couple of years, I've listened mainly to underground and house music. Therefore my latest influences mainly come from my good friend Corvin Dalek & all the Wet and Hard Crew from Berlin, Oliver Klein, Marco Bellini, the excellent Saeed Younan, Pig & Dan, Dirty Funker, Midnight Society, Dave The Drummer, RPO, DR. Kucho, Timo Maas, Melleefresh & Deadmau5, and of course Indica , my mentor and partner. He is indeed my greatest influence and you should take few minutes to surf his ''Musicv2.com'' profile and listen to his amazing work!

Dan Stringer has been involved in the Montreal underground music scene since 2002.
He began his DJ career at the very first ever North American Wet & Hard featuring Corvin Dalek. The event was produced by House Of Sins Productions on March 13th, 2004. The success of the event led Dan to further explore his passion behind the decks and his early career was aided by his mentor, friend and partner in HOS, Indica, who turned out to be the most important influence and inspiration of Dan's musical and mixing style.
His sound is an energetic and high-octane blend of Dirty House, Wet & Hard tracks, aggressive Prog & Techy House beats fused together to create a truly intense and exploding energy turning every single performance unique. Dan's has a unique talent for connecting with his crowd changes with each venue, but one thing never change, he always maintain consistency through his objective of delivering a "very intense energy set" throughout each performance.
Given a few tracks of warming up, Dan will challenge your taste and sense of what a Dirty House DJ should sound like. Few master the flow of seamless genre shifting within one set with such technical mastery. You'll be able to notice that his techny roots and style are very present during his sets and he can occasionally dip into the darker side of house music without an ounce of deviation.
Altough many factors contribute to where a set will go, the final product won't be known, even to Dan, until the very end when the set is over. Club owners and promoters find it a pleasure to work with him because of his practical down to earth attitude about life and business. He best describes himself, with a smile, as a "Low Maintenance DJ" and he is always genuinely interested in the success of all parties involving his performances.
As Dan's popularity continues to quickly gain momentum, his reputation for consistency and artistry also continues to make its mark throughout the circuit scene.
