I started DJing and learned beatmatching when I was 12 years old. I got my first DJ equipment for my 13th bithday. I was born in Brooklyn NY & developed a folowing in the local area, best known as SteveFish in the area and one of the best classic dance type of style. Also well adaptable to many different musics as the times change. I was introduced to the DJ field in early 1979 by some DJ's that used to play up in the Bronx. I took a great desire to get that style that I was hearing & devoted myself till I "got it". I then took some great influences from the styles of the time particularly "JellyBean" style of using different types of styles blending together to create what will appear to be like a storyline or timeline of musics from different times that seem to tell a story. I am now in South Florida & as usual always adapting to the times I no longer use vinyl spinning some great sets of Tribal House & High energy dance. Been Spinning for nearly 30 years. I always find it as some sort of expression release that cant be replaced with anything else. I never forget where I come from & frequently do some of the stuff that I grew up on that keeps me in perspective knowing that thats where the challenge lies. To mix the perfectly timed drum machine based music of today is nice but spinning the late 70's and early 80s type of music helps keep me sharp in the mix. Over the years especially after having turned it into a job I kind of just did it for the money & other props as well but not untill now do I feel like I cant wait to get home to play again I guess I am in it for the love of it again.
