DJ. Naomi Nye has had blazing passion for music since early childhood. Being raised in both Europe and America lengthened her musical palate."Latin and Mediterranean music are an intricate part of my childhood memories just as familiar to me as the sound of my father's whistle". Yet she never experienced anything remote to when she watched DJ's Sasha and John Digweed live. "It was an amazing experience. I remember asking for the name of a few songs that were played that night. When I heard the songs the following day, they sounded nothing like they did on that evening. It was then that I got a zest for djing". She purchased her first set of turntables in 2001 and the following year she landed her first gig at one of the Miami's hottest spots, Nikki Beach. In the summer of the following year Naomi, along with partner Nicolle Leeberg opened the doors to the eclectik Slak Lounge in Miami's Design District. During that year she booked stellar artists to host events like DJ. Le Spam (and the Allstars), 'Cool Times' with Ben and Ryan, and the notorious Kitchen Club. She held a Sunday mornings after hours where she played along side DJ's DHM, Matt Martinez, and other Miami DJ's. She began working with local promoting companies in the South Beach area and was hired for private parties and special events. Her growing success was soon shadowed by illness impeding her career from going any furthur. "Being born with a club foot was very difficult to cope with as a child, my first surgery was when I was 3 months old and my last surgery, which one? I'm having no.18 next month and I'm still pending dates for 2 other needed surgeries. I guess having to deal with yearly post op. rehabilitation, school and being a Jehovah Witness was very stressful to manage so I guess my body has gotten used to pain and hard work. Thank God for that!" So The Doors to Slak Lounge were unexpectedly closed in the summer of 2004 and she moved to Europe in order to receive medical care provided for her under her Spanish citizenship. In spite of her daily flares that were not only getting stronger, but were lasting longer and impeding her from every activity that entailed anything that wasn't laying in bed dreadful and painful activity. That did not stop her from networking and landing a local radio station DJ and a club promoter to start representing me with summer parties and raves. During the next 16 months she played at renowed night clubs as Cielu, Pacha and UP6 in Barcelona along with playing in a rave and several street parties which brought crowds of hundreds. She returned to the United States in 2006 to pursue a Recording Arts degree and fullfill her dream of becoming a Producer, Sound Designer. During her time at Full Sail, she had the fortune to work with many talented artist. One of the singles, titled 'Afrika' Naomi produced with engineer Evan Peterson, and artist Aeon is now being seen and heard on MTV. She worked with gifted students in the creation of the one minute demo of her cartoon series, "SoBe Life" and land a deal which is currently preparing to produce The Pilot Series, which will be airing with a cable network scheduled for Winter 2009. She is currently working on her first mix CD containing tracks written(vocals) and produced by DJ.Naomi Nye. With the release of this album DJ. Naomi Nye plans to incorporate live performance into her set. Although Naomi has been incorporating live music, singing, and jamming to her crowds to accompany energetic Disco/Afro-Beat sets infused wth her own remixes of old, classic hits. If DJ. She is negociating with a publishing company for the release of her first book titled "Programmed for Life" which will be released in the summer of 2009. "I have to give myself more time than others to produce my work because I never know what day I am going to have when I get out of bed, if I make it out of bed that day. It's never the same either. I might have a great weekend to be recuperating in bed till Thursday 4 days later.  "I swear, as long as I'm playing or making music I'll take any pain, because I know how alive I feel when I'm on my turntables in front of a crowd".
