Musical Influences |
|
My biggest inspiration is Technical Itch. Second place is a tie amongst Teebee (his earlier stuff), Dom & Roland (his earlier stuff too), and Kemal (again, mostly his earlier stuff with Rob Data). Other influences include Amit, Usual Suspects, Stakka + Skynet (when they worked together), Digital, Dylan, Keaton, Hive, R.A.W., Breakage, and Paradox.

Gear / Equipment |

I use Digital Performer 5 as my main sequencer on an Intel Core Duo Mac. I use Recycle to break up my breaks, and Peak to do various waveform manipulations. I used to record my didjeridu into my computer with a mic more often than I have in the last year or so, but I still do it occasionally.

I've been playing the didjeridu for eight years, playing live with dj's for about six years, producing jungle/drum n' bass for about four years, and DJing for about two years. I record quite a bit of my didjeridu and include it in my drum n' bass productions. I've been an active part of the lesser known and now defunct Santa Cruz jungle scene in California for about five or so years. I am a drum n' bass addict, and while I love all kinds of music, I listen to drum n' bass about 95% of the time. My favorite style is dark, brooding jungle with subtle sci-fi atmospherics. The sound I'm trying to personally cultivate captures a vision of a half organic, half technological future hell. The earthy sounds of my didjeridu layered over technofied jungle breaks combine into my hybrid style I call "post-apocalyptic swamp funk". I am presently living in Washington D.C.

Unorthodox Soundscapes
Description:
This is a different kind of concept mix that I’ve never made before, made entirely of productions by three different people: myself (now in DC), TVG Hates TVG from Irvine, and Ibunshi from Sweden. Over the last eight or nine months I have been collaborating with both of these guys separately and I thought it would be fun to put all our sounds into a mix together. This mix contains several solos from each artist, and then a bunch of mutual remixes and a couple collaborations. The sounds range from drumfunk to half-time, from experimental to atmospheric. While we all sound pretty different from each other, what we have in common are variety in drum patterns, dark/meancholy atmosphere, and subtly of sound effects. I feel like this is a good mix for the iPod or at home, or the beginning or ending of a show. If you like these qualities in your dn’b and you want to hear a bunch of tracks you haven’t heard before, give it a listen. Actually, some of these tracks I’ve posted before but most of them are new. I apologize in advance for some of the shiesty mixdowns of my own tracks, I’m too lazy/busy to fix them right now and I just want to get the tracks out there. Fuck it!
Tracklist:
1.) (Intro) Unnatural Melody - Indidjinous 2.) A Day Without Caffeine - TVG Hates TVG 3.) Clean Cut - Indidjinous 4.) Mantis (TVG Hates TVG remix) - Indidjinous 5.) Mantis - Indidjinous 6.) Obfuscated - TVG Hates TVG 7.) Melt (Indidjinous remix) - Ibunshi 8.) Dead Ringer - Indidjinous 9.) These Ugly Thoughts - TVG Hates TVG 10.) Feral - Indidjinous 11.) Melt - Ibunshi 12.) Low-Tech
Description:
This is my current "best of" album, containing my favorite tracks I've made in the last two years. I made all of the tracks myself with the except of two different songs that I created alongside Ibunshi. Enjoy!

Jungle Visionz
Description:
This is a mix of all original tracks that I created at the end of 2006 and the begginning of 2007, back n Santa Cruz California. While I do DJ, I decided to compile this mix on my computer just because it is so easy to do since all my tracks are produced at the same BPM (170 in this case). Many of the tracks have a half/time breakdown but they still stand firmly in the drum & bass category. If you like what you hear (or even if you don't) please let me know, I love feedback, that's the reason I have this mix posted. Thanks for listening.
Tracklist:
1.) Wrecking Ball 2.) Stutter 3.) Endgame 4.) Creepah 5.) Mantis 6.) Boiler Room 7.) Devil's Night 8.) The Last Hurrah 9.) No Time For Granted (feat. Konfusion) 10.) Creekwalk 11.) Skulk 12.) Vaporz 13.) Downshift 14.) Under The Radar 15.) Nowhere to Hide 16.) Interlude

Capital Eclipse
Description:
This is a mix of all my most recently produced tracks, from May 07' to July 07'. Every track on here was made since I moved to D.C. so I guess I've been inspired by the swampy summer heat on these ones. In this album I delve deeper into the half-time dark techstep vibe with many tracks having a half-time breakdown or layered hip-hop tempo break along with more traditional dn'b breaks. One track (Dusk) isn't even really drum n' bass, it is totally half-time but it definitely isn't hip-hop. Maybe it is freak-hop? Is that what they call it these days? I love feedback, please give me some.
Tracklist:
1.) In tha Trenches 2.) Capital Punishment 3.) 100% Humidity 4.) Disturbing 5.) Feral 6.) In Limbo 7.) Tectonic 8.) Beware 9.) Salvage 10.) Dusk 11.) Beneath 12.) Sticks & Stonez

Ancient Formationz
Description:
This is a mix of the best of my older tracks, when I used to make them all at 175bpm. It's a little faster and a bit more hardcore than my recent stuff, and not as cleanly produced, but still worth a listen.
Tracklist:
1.) Prototypes 2.) Excavation 3.) Shatong (Indidjinous Remix) by: Ugene 4.) Robotic Slaughter 5.) Minions 6.) Skirmish 7.) Anti-State 8.) Desolate 9.) Dark Mission 10.) Sunshine Destroyer 11.) Boomride 12.) Simmer 13.) Lowah 14.) Midsummer Nightmate (feat RAW) 15.) Awakening
