Hi, My name is Lea Farmer. I began DJing in 1999 following my discovery of House Music in 1998. This first began with my first visit to Ibiza and the legendary Privilege Nightclub on the Island . To see how a DJ could control people’s emotions and the ability to keep you dancing till Sunrise was something which inspired me to purchase my first set of turntables. Costing £50 which included the mixer, these really should of belonged in a museum and I was surprised they worked. But it must be said that learning on those has stood me in good stead for what I’m doing now!

By 2001 I had left University and started my first night. I started this night with another DJ and friend Marc Price. The night was called Remedy and was held at Amigos in Cardiff , UK . The name was inspired as a result of, what we thought, too many nights having Hard Trance and Hard House played as the main sound. It was around this time that the UK had moved away from Hard House as the mainstream sound, with places like the Cross, Godskitchen and other top nights playing my preferred genre, Progressive House. As Cardiff was a few years behind we decided to start a night. Remedy was a night with Music that was more based on the Progressive sound of the Time, music ranging from X Press 2, Sasha, Digweed, Lawler and Way Out West… labels like Renaissance, Bedrock and Hooj Choons.

Discontent arose as the taste for this type of music didn’t really take off in the city till much later and as a result, I seemed to drift away from DJing too concentrate on other passions in life. Its weird really as I have just learned that Chris Lake experienced much the same but instead of quitting started making his own music, inspirational!

It was two years ago, 2005, that a friend invited me to play at a night called Underground. This was a local night playing the exact music that I love. The response to this type of music was much better than when I first started and has given me the buzz to start playing out again! Which is why I am here writing about myself. Strange feeling but like they say… Promote, promote and promote.

Check out the following sites to find out more about what I play and who I am.

Please feel free to leave any comments, become friends, share ideas.

Thanks for listening!
