Biography

Lizzie Curious is one of a very rare breed of female DJs: she wields an insatiable appetite for the hottest house music, raw talent, a never ending source of energy and enthusiasm, flawless technical skills, consistent floor-filling, crowd-enthusing performances, unmatchable passion and evident dedication to her craft. However, Lizzie’s talent for DJing is matched by her stunning vocals and songwriting skills: she sings, writes and produces her own material all in her own studio to consistent rave reviews. Her beautiful, versatile stunning voice, coupled with her talent for penning catchy, original lyrics has seen her work with top DJs from around the world including Robbie Rivera (the vocal “Star Quality” features as the title track on the album released on Juicy Music, with a single release set for later this year), Nino Anthony (vocal forthcoming on Portamento) and Tim Davison (vocal forthcoming on Baroque Records). Her prowess for making music does not stop there…after gaining a triple distinction BTec in Music Technology, armed with her classical training (training in voice, flute, piano & cello) she set up her own studios and released her own spectacular debut artist album “Different Things” on Break Out Recordings in 2007.

DJ: Anyone who has seen Lizzie DJ has been blown away by her amazing energy and infections enthusiasm: her ability to interact with the crowd is second to none and all the more impressive combined with her consistent impeccable mixing of only the finest house and electro cuts. With her loyal “Team Curious” following in tow wherever she plays, a Lizzie Curious set guarantees the dancefloor to be rammed from start to finish, with smiles on faces, feet stamping hard on the floor and hands punching the air to her filthy beats. Her combination of fresh, filthy, floor-filling underground electro & house, spiced with original, exclusive remixes, re-edits & acapellas sees her diary full with gigs across the country, with consistent repeat bookings show that Lizzie impresses not only the crowd but promoters too. Lizzie’s fanbase in London continues to grow consistently larger as she graces the decks at the capital’s most exciting clubs (The End, Turnmills, Hidden, The Scala, The Whitehouse, Inigo) alongside her enviable residency with ElectronicSessions. Lizzie has also re-invigorated Cheltenham’s club scene: as a co-promoter and resident for the monthly show-stopping Break Out events in Cheltenham, Lizzie has been credited for bringing the “underground dance scene to Cheltenham…and it has blown up!” (Afterdark magazine, April 08.”) Lizzie Curious is also now been making a name for herself abroad, having completed a mini-tour of Finland, making a 4,000 strong crowd beg for mercy at Angelz of Funk at BCM in Majorca and numerous gigs on the White Isle including the exclusive Es Vive Hotel, the Dusted Pre-Party and annual show-stopping sets for Charlys Angelz in Ibiza.

Vocalist/songwriter: As her new artist album “Different Things” illustrates; Lizzie’s talent for penning both heartfelt, true-to-life lyrics are matched by her versatile voice: full of character each song Lizzie writes is charged with emotion taking you to another time and place… from telling a quirky story to lyrics perfect for a packed underground club to simply conveying heartfelt emotion. Be it sexy, sassy, gritty attitude, mournful, tounge-in-cheek, poignant or even party-fuelled debauchery Lizzie has a real flair for crafting songs that are catchy, infectious, original and unforgettable: Upon entering the UK Songwriting Contest (one of the most respected competitions in the music industry) for the first time this year, all of Lizzie’s songs reached the semi-finals, with 3 tracks all in the finals, which puts her songs in the top 6% of all entries. It’s no surprise that Lizzie’s talent as a vocalist and songwriter means she is much in demand for topline vocals and she has already worked with some of the most prolific dance music producers in the world including Robbie Rivera (with a vocal forthcoming on his new album), Tim Davison (vocal forthcoming on Baroque Records) and Nino Anthony (vocal forthcoming on Portamento Records. Following the release of her album, Lizzie has received hundreds of messages of praise from both respected industry professionals of all genres through to ‘people on the street’ of all ages.

Producer: A classically trained background (voice, piano, flute & cello) and several years of DJing in some of the UK’s finest clubs has fine-tuned Lizzie’s ears for music production. After gaining a triple-distinction in BTec Music Technology (this achieved in one year on a course designed to take 2 years) Lizzie built her own studio (using Logic Pro on a Mac G5 for all you tech-heads) where she writes, records and engineers her own songs, plus remixes and re-edits of tracks exclusively for her DJ sets. Her productions are as unique as her vocals and this is reflected in the diverse nature of music found on her album. From beautiful, harmonious chillout music to gritty electro house, the production of Lizzie’s music is always second to none. Her exclusive, dirty house bootlegs of some of the world’s favourite tracks (Sia – Breathe Me, Coldplay – Square One, Planet Perfecto – Bullet In The Gun) are making waves across clubland and ensure her sets remain unforgettable.
