Since 2003, DJ Mikey Siorek and has become a staple the dance music scene. His wide crowd appeal stems from flawless mixing, keen track selection, and programming that is in-tune with the dance-floor. The track selection is always in key and consists of a vibrant mix of electro-progressive-tech-tribal house music that keeps the dance floor in suspense.
Mikey Siorek, along w/ partner Danny K. broke into Ottawa’s DJ circle by successfully founding Thrust Fridays at the Umbrella Room. This little known club located on William St. instantly became a Friday night hotspot in the city’s electronic music scene. The weekly event, distinguished by its hard edge sound, played host to the most talented local DJs and monthly guest Canadian DJs including Brad Copeland [This is London-Toronto], Luc Raymond [Stereo, Aria, Montreal], and Matt Ste. Marie [Circus afterhours, Montreal]. This weekly residency earned Mikey Siorek the respect of being a top notch DJ with fine taste in quality house music.
Mikey’s talent, hard work, and reputation secured him a monthly residency at Ottawa’s premier afterhours club Surface Nightclub (2004, 2005). As Ottawa’s only afterhours venue, a residency at Surface nightclub is the most sought after and competitive booking in the region. The list of international DJs that have landed at Surface is long and distinguished. During the year long, high-profile residency, Mikey Siorek opened the main room for Chus & Ceballos, Low End Frequencies, Stephan Grodin, Martin Parra, Joubin and other international DJs. In addition, Mikey has regularly headlined at Helsinki nightclub in Ottawa (www.helsinki.ca), which has hosted a variety of talents including Rogers Sanchez, Danny Howells, Mistress Barbara, Lee Buridge, Desyn Masiello, Bob Sinclair, and resident DJ Max Graham.
Since then, Mikey relocated to San Diego, CA and has drawn on the West Coast musical influences. He lately released ClassiCali promo mix that features a vibrant mix heavily influenced by jazz, blues, R&B, old-school house, rock and roll, and classical music.
