Hello!
Thank you for visiting my MusicV2 home.  If you are here you most likely have heard me spin and we have made our musical connection so before we continue I want to thank you for your support and your refined taste!  You are more then welcome and encouraged to share this link with your friends.  I would very much appreciate your comments.

So...!!!!
Here is something about me:

I was born in this fascinating place called Ohrid in the beautiful Macedonia.  It is dubbed the pearl of the Balkans and it has a very rich musical culture and ancient history and traditions.  Having always been a popular tourist destination the city has always kept up with the latest and coolest and hosts world renowned musicians, performers, theaters, orchestras and djs.
It was a true blessing to be brought up in city with such musical culture by quite the musical family as well.

My dad used to be a dj and he plays the clarinet, piano and guitar, my mom plays the piano, my brother guitar and piano, uncle and cousin Dimi violinists, his sister Katerina one of the best flute players in the country, and finaly we come to me a classical pianist who came to the states to study science but couldn't get away from music so majored in that as well and somehow eventually decided to share his selection with others.

Now let's talk about vinyl records.  Nostalgic right?  How many do you have? ;)
I was always fascinated by them since I pretty much grew up in the era of cassette tapes and records were already going near extinct when I was a teenager. Playing with vinyl meant listening to my Dad's great music since they weren't really available to buy where I grew up.
Even good tapes were often hard to find.  We were copying a lot from eachother.  Remember putting tape on the cassette so you can record from it?

People mostly listened to the radio. So I had this neat stereo with a record player and a ton of old records. But, despite the fact that I loved and studied music, most of my friends in Macedonia were djing in radio stations way before me. I was really a house dj - as in dj-ed in my house for myself.

It was when I was in college that I sort of grew out of my punk tapes and cd's and got into the club culture. My parents moved to New Zealand and I came to study close to Chicago, USA where I hung out with quite the diverse international group very much into electronic music. We would often drive to Chicago just to party and at the time we were really digging trance. Eventually, after getting a degree in Music to accompany my Biology degree I got a job in Massachusetts and settled in Boston.

I quickly started unloading my paychecks on my expensive hobby. It was quite costly since
Boston is packed with really good DJs and there are not that many places where you can get a gig. During that time I met Bart Deplancke from Belgium and we started GrooveScience. We eventually started getting some small gigs in Boston, bigger gigs in Europe and eventually after lots of hard work and not giving up we became resident djs at perhaps the best lounge in Boston: 28 degrees. It is one of the only house music sanctuaries in Boston despite the fact that many people think that Boston is very pro-European. To this date Boston has no house music radio channel. ***what???***

In 2005 I was the resident DJ at Uranija in Ohrid, Macedonia, a revered urban culture place in the city which unfortunately does not exist any more. (the city exists - you should go in summer) I had somewhat of a Soulful sound at the time and a lot of that vibe gets projected in my sets at 28 degrees.

April 2006 was when I got my residency at 28 degrees, Boston
Since then I have played for upscale fashion shows such as:
Saks Fifth Avenue, Reese, Neiman Marcus, VIP parties at the Institute of contemporary art, Opening of Season III party of HBO's Entourage and various other gigs. This summer I had a few gigs during my tour in Macedonia and Greece (for over 2000 people!!!-pics and videos soon). But, while that sounds really cool and all I mainly DJ because I want people to be exposed to good music and have a great time.
I am currently doing cancer research at Dana-Farber/Harvard Medical school and I spin on Fridays at 28 degrees in Boston where I usually throw loungy/lux/deep house.

Thank you for listening to my mixes, I hope you enjoy my selection as much as I do. Please send me comments and get on the newsletter so you can get info on where I am spinning and get new mixes.
:::NEWS:::
28 degrees is setting up a music mix podcast, more info soon.
The podcast will be up this weekend! yey 2008
I am sorry for the delay but we started producing and you have no idea how much time this takes us now. Hopefully as we get better it will not take all of my time. I promise to put some new mixes on VEeeeeeery soon!
