Raised in the busteling breeze of Miami, Rawtee AKA Raul Chavez had a start in dance music unlike most American artists his age. With roots in acid house, funk, techno, and ambient, his love affair with electronic music stems from his family's love of the dance. Starting with kiddie keyboards at age 10, he progressed with the UK scene via imports sections at his local record store, long before the US "electronica" boom of the mid 1990's. Using bare bones tools and a talent for playing by ear, he moved from house, techno, acid, gabba, speedcore, trance and eventually to his current career in the fast paced world of Drum and Bass. Still residing in Miami, he continues to drop his exclusive brand of funk sprinkled with a touch of the avant garde. Booming basslines, fast drum breaks and quirky samples continues to be his name sake and with current projects in genres such as hip hop and RnB, we can only look forward to what drips from his speakers next....
