Second Thought is the musical alias of Ross Baker, a multi-instrumental artist from various locations in the United Kingdom.
After praise from all parts of the online music world, alongside radio exposure and championing from longtime electronic pioneers The Future Sound of London, Ross returns with his second full-length record this year. The follow-up to 2004's 'Purlieu', an organic dark ambient record aiming to leave the listener lost and alone in a desolate, eerie countryside, 'Vaccum Road Songs' veers off into cityscape industrialism via harsh breakbeats, clattering IDM, moody techno and melancholy ambient; disorienting and bizarre, the record reflects the hectic metropolis and the beauty hidden within chaos.
Ross currently resides in Leeds, where he records as Second Thought (after several years of sharing the band name as a lo-fi techno act with DJ Dale Clarke in Leicestershire), plays guitar in noise-rock No Rave band The Richmond Hill Approach, runs Jerky Oats Records, and generally frequents the alternative music scene.
