Musical Influences
From punk to funk, breaks, house, techno, electro, hip hop, drum and bass, jazz.  I'm inspired by all types of music, but to name a few...

Cereal Killaz, Duel Calibre, Stanton Warriors, General Midi, Unbalanced Jack, Krafty Kuts, Rennie Pilgrim, Aphrodite, Ewun, Evol Intent, Tech Itch, Urban Takeover, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Dieselboy, POTD, Dilinja, Dj Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Run DMC, Rage Against The Machine, Incubus, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Daft Punk, Josh Wink, Danny The Wildchild, Fatboy Slim, Erol Alkin, Freaky Flow, Sasha and Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, Prodigy, and the list goes on.

All my original productions and Dj mixes are available free for download.   However, it costs a lot of money to be a DJ/ Producer, and Donations are always appreciated, even if it's just one dollar.
Gear / Equipment
Tech 12's...what else?
I also have started producing tracks with Ableton Live, Oxygen 8 Midi Controller, Korg Electribe ES-1 rhythm sampler, and a Boss digital 8-track.  Also have my guitar, bass, and a studio condensor microphone.
You can check out my original tracks on my myspace page, here, and at Gotchabitchez.com .

VS23 started Djing in the Pittsburgh party scene back in '98, affiliated with Candy Gang
Productions as well as Rise Up!. Later he moved to Puerto Rico, and was the scratch dj for the group, Slimy Nuggetz (Tenet Records). While in Puerto Rico, he performed on several television shows, including "Tarde en la Noche con Luis Gonzales"(The Late Show), "Frente Sonico" (Sonic Front), and the "Sprite Spring Break TV Tour". Over the years, he's played shows in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Philadelphia, State College, Baltimore, Virginia, Puerto Rico, London, UK and on Drum n Bass TV's radio show on the worldwide web(www.dnbtv.com). Also his original productions have been played on the Mixdown FM Radio show in Nashville, TN, as well as a several online radio stations.

After taking a six year break from public performances, he came back in 2007 performing at Play 3.0 and Play Breaks Edition, and as a result gained a slew of other bookings, and a new crew affiliation- Bad Moral Character. Already in 2008 he's played on Drum n Bass TV several times (www.dnbtv.com), as well Twisted Production's "Heaven On Earth", BMC's "Dance Out Loud" in March, and "Wardance" on May 3rd, as well as a headlining slot at Rehab Records' "Tantric" in Virginia on May 2nd. Since May, VS23 has rocked out in the main room at two Tru Skool parties (one of them opening for the legendary Dj Dara), as well as one of the headlining slots at "Pulse" in Baltimore.  Though Breaks are his specialty, VS23 is known for his diversity in genres, so don't be surprised to hear some Drum n Bass, UK garage, Electro, House, Techno, Trance, Hip Hop and even Ghettotech. Look for big things in 2008 from this "up-and-comer" who's no stranger to the spotlight.

the death of vinyl
Description:

Other than a few minutes preparing, by loading a bunch of drum kits and drum beats I had previously made, this mix was done in 30 minutes with no editing after the fact.  I did live remixes and mashups on the fly, as well as included a few of my original tracks.   The mix is called "the death of vinyl" because I'm looking to move more into the digital wold, where the possibilities are endless.

I'll put up a tracklisting later on.

ps. wtf why don't they have breaks as a genre?

Kiss Off (VS23 Drum n Breaks Remix)
Description:
Starting off with a hard breakbeat over an acoustic guitar loop, coupled with a slowed down heavy dnb bassline, the track gets you going at around 140 BPM, and then breaks down. Before you know what hit you, suddenly you are rockin out to the Violent Femme's, dnb/ jungle style!
